Friday November 6, A&E Television Network laid off 100 employees which is about 10% of their total work force. A spokesman confirmed the layoffs and their direct impact of the A&E TN and Lifetime Entertainment Services
The list of the pink-slipped executives at the female-centered network included senior vp corporate communications and publicity Josh Sabarra, another PR exec, Cindy Ronzoni, unscripted head Jessica Samet and head of casting Rick Jacobs.
Under the post-merger structure, Lifetime is being brought into the A&ETN fold alongside A&E and History Channel under A&ETN president and CEO Abbe Raven.
The combined company is jointly owned by Disney-ABC and Hearst, each holding a 42.5% stake, and NBC Universal controlling the remaining 15.5%.
